What Is the Chin Lipo Procedure Like?

Your chin liposuction procedure can be performed using local anesthesia when carried out as a standalone procedure. Dr. Gerth will begin by making tiny incisions under the chin. Through these incisions, he will place a thin tube, called a cannula, under the chin and carefully suction out the fat in even strokes. Once he is satisfied with the result, he will carefully close the incisions with neat sutures.

What Can I Expect From Chin Lipo Recovery?

After your procedure, you may have some mild swelling, bruising, and discomfort, which can be managed with over-the-counter medications and cold compresses. You may also be given a small compression garment to be worn around your chin, which helps the skin retract and reduces swelling.
Wear your compression garment and follow all recovery instructions provided by our team. Most patients will need to take a week off from work, sometimes less if the procedure is performed alone. Be sure to rest as much as possible; even though this is a minimally invasive procedure, you will still be fatigued as you heal.

When Will I See My Chin Lipo Results?

Patients will notice an immediate improvement in their double chin, despite swelling and bruising. Final results will slowly become more apparent as swelling reduces over a few weeks, revealing a tighter contour and more angular chin and jawline.
